Personal Values

Below are Nini’s personal values, boundaries and requirements as they pertain to movement and performance spaces:

-The consent and safety of every participant must always be a top priority.

-Venues must have a separate space dedicated solely to the performers for dressing and changing.

-As a performer, I engage with productions that:

  • Provide monetary compensation to performers.

  • Consider and value the input of their entertainers.

  • Offer freedoms for personal creativity and individual style.

  • Prioritize and value Black, Indigenous and LGBTQ+ creators and producers and the expressions that are meaningful and innate to them.

  • Recognize strippers/sex workers and their contributions to performing arts and nightlife entertainment, especially within the respective pole and burlesque industries.

  • Celebrate and include various shapes, sizes and body types among those sharing the space.

  • Support and encourage artists from marginalized groups to vocalize issues that impact them such as discrimination, othering, violence, or microaggressions.

  • Welcome varying styles of movement and skill levels among everyone involved.
